The official told Reuters that the ships left Chabahar port on the Gulf of Oman earlier than being contacted by the U.S. warship by way of radio communication. The official added that the tankers have been among the many six vessels that U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) stated Tuesday obeyed orders from American forces to show round and head again to an Iranian port on the Gulf of Oman.

CENTCOM Commander Adm. Brad Cooper added in a press release that “a blockade of Iranian ports has been absolutely applied as U.S. forces preserve maritime superiority within the Center East.”
